As an artist I've always been happiest when working with my hands, it's one of the reasons why I love doing hair and makeup so much!
My earliest memories are of going to town on endless piece of paper with crayons, paints, coloured pencils…whatever I could get my hands on and not much has changed since then. Naturally this lead to Studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Painting at The College of Fine Arts in Paddington and then a Diploma of Specialist Makeup Services at the Australasian College. Since then I have been working and assisting in all areas of the industry including Film, Tv, Fashion, SPFX, Bridal, Special Events, Headshots, Body Painting the list goes on...

Kat Margarita Designs is a nod to the psychedelic movement of the 1960's & 70's promoting freedom of expression through colour, movement, line & abstraction.
I started making my earrings in November 2017 as a creative therapy tool to deal with passing of my grandma and fell deeply in love with the process. The organic nature of using just my two hands to heat up, mix and mold the clay in an experimental way that's based on my mood, is purely intuitive.
One of my favourite details in the earrings is the imprint of my finger prints in the molds, a little reminder of the human touch. Something that's often missing now with mass machine production.
